The sales and use tax laws and regulations dealing with construction contracting can be complicated to deal with, and getting things wrong can have a material impact on the bottom line. In Pennsylvania, for certain type of contracts, work done for governmental/charitable customers is treated differently than other customers. Getting this right can save the contractor up to 7% of material costs. Being too aggressive can lead to tax exposure. The session will provide an overview of Pennsylvania sales and use tax issues specific to the industry. Similar topics in Ohio and West Virginia will also be covered.
